Web and Database Programmer
This position calls for a team player with ASP Web programming, SQL Database experience to assist in the design and development of high volume Web Sites.
Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for day-to-day technical operations including site maintenance, database administration, and performance enhancements. In addition, the programmer will also work closely with editors and other engineers on ongoing development projects to improve and expand the functionality of the sites. This person will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with other technical staff within ESP and our partner sites.
Requirements:
- At least two years professional Web experience, preferably with a high traffic site.
- An acute eye for detail.
- A quick learner with well developed troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and team skills.
- A high level of competency with ASP (Active Server Pages). (CFM, PHP, CGI and Javascript a plus)
- A solid understanding of the Windows 2000 environment (Linux a plus).
- Extensive experience with SQL databases.
- A solid understanding of HTTP and Web client/server interaction.
- Experience with IIS 5 Web server administration.
Graphical Interface Designer
This position requires visual and conceptual problem-solving skills, including the ability to produce a
variety of creative solutions for any given problem both independently and as a member of a team. The
individual must possess a high level of design sensibility. Must have traditional design skills, including
sketching, fine type sensibility, composition, understanding of color palettes, grid systems, multipage
documents, and final art production.
The designer must have ability to collaborate or take direction from senior creatives to produce work that
meets design objectives. A can-do attitude and the ability to work within ESP's standards of original quality designs and look & feel is essential. Must have ability to manage own projects, meet deadlines, including doing whatever is
necessary to produce work on time. Must have the ability to ask questions, gathering information on
projects so that the scope of project is clear. A strong working knowledge of computer design programs is
necessary, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
Prefer two to three years experience, and a college degree is a plus, but portfolio and attitude will
determine selection.
